Ministry Opportunities 2011| Sunday Morning Worship Saturday cleaning & organization of church building. After service fellowship times snacks & drinks: Bringing food for our "Love Feast" after communion service. Last Sunday worship "Choir" 8:30 a.m. service for communion. Providing "Special Music" for either service. Be a "Bridge Builder" and invite people for Sunday service. Be a "Bridge Builder" and invite one person you do not know out to lunch each month. Arrive 5 minutes before the service and pray for God's Spirit to bless the service. Take out trash & organize after 11a.m. service to prepare for Monday. Pray for the Holy Spirit to use the sermon and music in a powerful and life changing way. Come to church work days & help keep the church building and grounds looking good. Learning and Teaching Meet with the pastor and be coached to reach a specific spiritual goal. Meet with a younger believer one on one and share your faith with them. Attend Sunday School and take notes. Do the application of every Sunday Sermon and keep an application journal. Attend Wednesday Night Bible Study and seek to apply what is taught. Attend seminars, classes and other learning opportunities. Attend the men's or women's groups and use these groups as a means to grow in grace. Seek counsel to overcome significant sins and life crisis. Set aside a day for a prayer retreat and meet with the pastor to plan this personal time with the Lord. Stewardship Give every week to help the church ministry. Give to Living Water Counseling. Sell things or services so that the ministry might have the funds it needs. Help in lawn care, grounds maintenance and cleaning to lower the monthly expenses of the church. Volunteer time, resources and skills to help the church save money. Sell land, stocks and assets and give to the church. Leave a gift to the church or Living Waters Counseling in your will. Pray for the Lord to provide $5,000 a week to the church and $5,000 a week to Living Waters Counseling. Pray that we may become debt free. Leadership Pray about becoming a leader in this ministry. Ask the pastor to train you as a leader. Participate in leadership training events. Tell someone if you think they ought to serve as a leader. Pray for the pastors, elders and deacons to act wisely. |
| Evangelism and Outreach Join & participate in Evangelism Explosion (meets after 11 a.m. service). Become a prayer partner for Evangelism Explosion. Be part of the prayer team for Evangelism Explosion on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Make questionnaire calls to those who live in 33325 area code. Pray for those who participate in Socrates Caf'e. Prayer Walk the 33325 area code and ask the Lord to bring spiritual awakening. Make calls inviting people to church for Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas. Invest in making baskets for visitors. Assimilation Write personal letters to our first time visitors. Talk to first time visitors during the "Giving of Peace" time of the service. Seek to take a first time visitor to lunch or talk to them after service. Invite a visitor to Sunday School or another activity outside Sunday morning. Pray for visitors to join our church. Invite a visitor to an Inquirers' Class and come with them. Ask a visitor to help in some part of our ministry. Fellowship Attend every Sunday worship. Come to the 10:30 "Coffee Break Fellowship". Attend the "After Glow Fellowship" after second service. Attend "Family Movie Nights" and "Praise Nights". Pray for the LORD to produce unity, peace and love in our church and ministry. Compassion Give to the deacon's fund. Help feed the homeless. Provide scholarships for people at Living Waters Counseling. Donate food to our food pantry. Help the deacons to help those in need in our community and pray for those in need. |
